Summer is coming and it’s time to gear up and prepare to give your clients some easy, fuss free hair tips that will have them loving you even more! This year’s trend for the summer is leaning towards a more free flowing, natural appeal. Put away your hot tools and pull out the gels, setting lotions, and mousse.
Try using flexi rods to create disheveled textured looks. If you don’t have them handy, just use drinking straws and roll spirals the length of the straw and pin. Allow the hair to dry and you will have a head of little curly curls. You can twist, scrunch it with mousse or gel, or just go as is…the choice is yours. You’ll be surprised at what you can do with a little ingenuity and some product.
Wet the Hair
Wash your hair or wet your hair using a spray bottle. Apply wrapping lotion to get the best curl results.
Detangle Hair
Comb through hair starting from ends and work out to the crown until hair is detangled.
Wrap with Flexi Rods
Section a portion of the hair and wrap the end of your hair over and under the tip of the rod. Then, roll the hair around the rod vertically. Keep repeating steps two and three until your entire head is done.
Let Hair Dry
Place a bonnet over the hair and leave it on overnight. Make sure you bend the rods in the direction that is most comfortable for you. If you have a bonnet dryer, sit under it for 40 to 50 minutes. You will know your hair is dry when your ends are fully dried.
Take Rods Out
Finally, you want to take each rod out carefully without damaging your hair or the curls created. To keep your flexi rod curls maintained, just moisturize and pin-curl your hair before you go to sleep.
